It's not YOUR government, Mr. Bush

In response to the no confidence vote in the Senate, George Bush said, "They can have their votes of no confidence, but it's not going to make the determination about who serves in my government."  http://www.msnbc.msn.com/...  Doesn't this just tell us everything we need to know about George Bush?  Lincoln famously spoke of government of the people, by the people and for the people.  Bush fancies himself some combination of Harry Truman, Winston Churchill and Abraham Lincoln.  Nothing, of course, could be further from the truth.  And, what could put the lie to the Lincoln comparison better than Mr. Bush's reference to "my government."  Arguably this was a slip of the tongue and Bush meant to refer to "my administration."  But, all indications are that Bush doesn't understand the difference.

  He's said the same thing multiple times using the same language. He does believe that he is the government (even though Tom Delay might argue with him about that) and that whatever he says goes, no questions asked and despite any opposition.

  Speaking only for myself (of course) the faster Bush and Cheney are dragged out of the WH in chains, given fair trials and convicted of war crimes, the better.

  Fair trials. Not the kangaroo court shams Bush offers to prisoners in Gitmo. Bush and Cheney belong in Gitmo themselves, imo.

  But even Bush and Cheney deserve better treatment than what they give to others...

  As Unitary Executive the government is essentially privatized under his decideration, nothing to see here.   Democrats took impeachment off the table because they have a hankering to be Unitary Executives themselves.  If Nancy and Harry are A-OK with the Unitary Executive  then we should be all smiles about it too!  :-)

  who thought, WTF - YOUR government?  It's MY government and OUR government, but it sure as hell is not YOURS.

  Those charming words came from him on or about the same day the Washington Post's lead story was about the people appointed to be immigration judges - a third of whom had clear Republican connections, many of whom had no immigration law experience, and some of whom had been declared unfit to be tax court judges after Bush nominated them for that post.  A couple of them even did stuff like fudge numbers on their tax returns.  And a huge proportion have been white males - just, I suppose, because it would be so easy for them to put themselves in the immigrants' shoes.  Not.

  I have sort of gotten used to a daily outrage from these disgusting characters, but some make me angrier than others, and that story sure did.

  My feelings about Bush and cronies go beyond all the epithets I can come up with.
