"Elitist" is the new "Uppity"

Tue Jun 24, 2008 at 03:51:29 PM PDT

The Republicans will hit Senator Obama with everything they can to tarnish his image. Just as they did with Kerry, defining him as "elitist" is a favorite ploy, no matter that it is false. Senator Obama's life has been anything but elitist. The truth doesn't matter.
Do Republicans believe Obama doesn't belong at the country club or do Republicans want to portray him as fitting there? Both.

Connection? Indian explosions & unguarded Iraqi bunker

Mon Jul 17, 2006 at 06:08:52 PM PDT

Has anyone made the connection between the recent Indian explosions and the 2004 story of the unguarded Iraqi weopons bunker? This is from an article today at Salon.

Investigators said Monday that RDX -- a military explosive favored by Islamic militants in India's part of Kashmir -- was used in the deadly attack on Bombay's rail system.

And here's our old story about the unquarded bunker, and missing RPX.

On April 18, a 101st recon party opened up at least some of those locked bunkers, including probably bunker 47, containing the IAEA's 3 tonnes or RDX in "Yugo drums," to see what was inside them, and then left the site with those bunkers now unlocked.

Yearly Kos 2005 Awards: And the winner is....

Wed Feb 01, 2006 at 04:32:09 PM PDT

What's a convention without awards? They take your mind off the food during dinner, recognise individual contributions, and build institutional memory. Over time, they establish a benchmark for performance and a succinct history of an organization. Besides they're usually controversial and fun - two Daily Kos attributes.

Here as some categories I'd like to see:
Diary of the Year 2005
Best Election 2005 Diary
Best Satirical Diary of the Year
Datamining Award (jotter is the odds on favorite here)
Most Original Research
Tin Foil Hat of the Year (with actual tin foil hat)
Most Influential Diarist
Troll of the Year

Good idea, bad idea?

Freep this poll or not...80% say support for war won't return

Mon Aug 22, 2005 at 01:49:18 PM PDT

On CNN's main page. "Can President Bush rally support for the war in Iraq?"
Already running 80 percent NO with 167,365 votes, but why give the MSM any reason to think otherwise. Besides, how else are you going to kill time til 5:00?
Almost takes the fun out of freeping when the results are so heavily skewed our way.
I searched and didn't see this listed already.
